2012 World's Ugliest Dog Contest

The 2012 World's Ugliest Dog Contest has now come and gone. Icky and Rascal were both there again, as was Princess Abby...and a few new fuzzy faces as well. The winner this year? Mugly, from the UK!
Mugly
We'll be chatting with Mugly and his mom, Bev, next week. You'll want to know more about them - Mugly works as a therapy dog, helping in hospitals. He had already won Britain's Ugliest Dog title, now he's the World champ!
Icky
And what about our favorite guy, Icky? He placed third, not bad for such a handsome guy, huh? While he didn't win the big money, he and his dad will continue in their work of helping dogs find forever homes. Heck, they just found one for their latest foster, Romeo! Happy Forever Home, Romeo.
Jon and Icky
As we already know, Jon and Icky work hard on behalf of dogs in need. It isn't easy, or cheap for that matter, to help rescue animals. The more ways we can all find to raise the funds needed, the better. So bring it on, future contests!

Congratulations and a big wet kiss to the winners of this year's World's Ugliest Dog contest!

  4. I have to say that I don't understand why anybody would want to organize or enter such contest.

    1. The contest is not quite as it seems, Jana - it's a fun way to raise funds for worthy animal causes. Not only are funds raised via the contest platform itself, individual contestants also pledge their winnings to chosen beneficiaries.
Despite its name, the contest is actually a way to honor these dogs, and to promote the concern for rescue pets.

  5. Never mind, Icky. You are still a winner is the real cause. And Mugly yay for the UK! :)

  6. I wouldn't care if I had pets that looked like Mugly or Icky. It's their personalities that I fall in love with- when it comes to animals.
