awwwwwwwww! That is adorable and amazing all at once. But in a way I am not surprised. Dog's are so smart, for someone who can't talk they're so switched on. And so great that they shared it so they'd encourage others to adopt instead of buy :)
Dogs really do have an extra sense for reading us, you're so right. Just thinking of some of the awesome ways they help humans in their daily lives, it's mind-blowing in a way!
That is so awesome!!! I hope this story not only inspires people to adopt a dog but also to not give their dog away just because they are having a baby.
Excellent point there, Dawn, about not giving up your dog because of having a baby. There really is no need, wish more people knew that. Hopefully this will indeed help spread awareness of that!
A touching story and Duke has that inner sense that warns of possible danger. Us animals are in tune with the environment. And yes, I concur, a great way to also bring further awareness of shelter dogs.
What's really amazing is that service dog organizations spend lots of time and money training dogs to do specialized things like Duke. But some dogs train themselves.

DeleteAnimals of all kinds are very aware and know when something is wrong. But that dog was great to do what he did. Great advertisement for shelter dogs.
ReplyDeleteAnd you, Marg, would surely be a great judge of good promotions for homeless animals! Hope all your furries are doing well :)
